& Home Theater Show By Clement Perry . . . Merlin Music Systems, Inc., JPS Labs, Inc, Joule-Electra and Walker Audio put on a show in room 9110. Walker Audio displayed its Air Bearing Proscenium Gold Signature Turntable and Arm ($17,250), with Precision Motor Controls, and motor controller ($1,500). This wicked sounding analog device drove the Joule Electra LAP-100 line (pre)amplifier with internal OPS-1 MIII All tube Phono Stage attached to a separate power supply ($5,490). The beautifully made Joule Electra VZN-100 MkIV OTL tube monoblocks ($9,800) sounded absolutely delicious driving the Ruby Heart red Merlin VSM-SE's speakers ($7,300) equipped with the new battery powered BAM. Cabling was by JPS Superconductor and the sound was breathtaking. These guys really know how to triumph over poor room acoustics. Whenever I see Bobby from Merlin, he's picking a room apart for the best setup. [He] Did it again! . . .
