"Having recently purchased one of Fender's 1962 American Vintage Stratocasters, I was drawn to the music coming from the Merlin Music/Joule-Electra room. Jeff Beck's "Brush With the Blues" (from the CD Who Else!) caused me a one-hour detour, as Merlin's Bobby Palkovic played cut after cut, following that up with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Art Pepper, and plenty more, over his stunning VSM Millennium speakers ($8,950) and Joule Electra VZN-100 OTL tube monoblocks ($15,000). The sound was exceptionally dynamic, tonally gorgeous, marvelously layered and coherent, earning my vote for perhaps the "best sound" of the show, and certainly the most fun."
